Early years washrooms are supervised washrooms. The cubicle has to give a child a sense of their own space without ever putting a solid door between them and the adult responsible for them. That is why nursery cubicles are built low, and why door height, hardware height and edge detail matter far more here than the finish does.
We make two ranges for this. Tippy Toes uses low-level doors in bright colours for nurseries and pre-school rooms. Blossom pairs a low-level door with a full-height partition, which suits settings sharing a washroom with reception or Key Stage 1. Both are manufactured to order in Bolton on a 7 working day lead time.

Low-level vanity units
Vanity units and worktops sized for small children, with a laminate face that copes with constant wiping and sealed edges that will not lift. Vanity units are made to order in 7 to 10 working days.

IPS duct panels
Panels that hide pipework and cisterns behind a flat, wipe-clean face, so there is nothing for a child to pull, climb or catch a finger on. IPS panels run 8 to 10 working days.

Hardware at child height
Indicator bolts, hinges, coat hooks and buffers fixed at nursery reach heights. Stock hardware is dispatched in 1 to 2 working days if you are replacing worn items rather than refitting a room.

Common questions
How low should a nursery cubicle door be?
Low enough that an adult standing in the washroom sees over it without leaning, and high enough that the child feels enclosed. In practice that means the door sits well below adult eye level, with a gap under it as well. We set the exact height against your room, the age band and your staff supervision policy.
What is the difference between Tippy Toes and Blossom?
Tippy Toes is low-level throughout, both doors and dividers, for nursery and pre-school rooms. Blossom keeps the low-level door but uses full-height partitions between cubicles. If the washroom is used only by under-fives, Tippy Toes is normally right. If it is shared with reception or Key Stage 1, Blossom usually is.
Are the cubicles anti-finger-trap?
Detailing at the hinge side and along the door edges is specified to remove the pinch gap that causes most early years washroom injuries. Tell us which hardware you want and we will confirm the detail for that combination before you order, rather than assuming every hinge and door edge behaves the same way.
Can we have a different colour on each cubicle?
Yes. Bright colours are part of the Tippy Toes and Blossom ranges and there is no penalty for mixing them across a room. Many nurseries run a different door colour per cubicle so a child can be told which one is theirs. Contrasting door and pilaster colours also help children with low vision.
How quickly can you deliver a nursery washroom?
Cubicles are 7 working days from order, manufactured in 3 to 5 at our Bolton factory. Vanity units are 7 to 10 working days and IPS panels 8 to 10, so on a full washroom the panel work sets the date. Delivery is free to UK mainland and all prices are exc VAT.
Do you sell to nurseries directly or only through contractors?
We are trade only, but that includes nursery groups, academy trusts and local authority estates teams buying direct, as well as fit-out contractors. Everything is made to order, so sizes need signing off before production and we cannot take change-of-mind returns. Send a survey or a room plan and we will quote.
