Material 6–25mm MR MDF

Moisture resistant MDF (MR MDF) cut to your exact sizes, for kitchen carcasses, utility rooms, window boards and bathroom furniture where humidity would swell standard MDF.

Choose 6, 9, 12, 18 or 25mm, enter each panel's length and width in millimetres, and the builder prices your whole cut list live from full 3050 × 1220mm boards. Cutting is included in the price, and a minimum charge per board applies, shown before you add to basket.

MR MDF resists humidity, not standing water, so seal or paint all faces and edges once fitted. Panels are cut on our beam saw in Bolton and supplied square-cut with no edging. Free UK mainland delivery. Want to check the board first? Order a sample from the builder.

Sheet size assumed: 3050 × 1220mm. Boards are charged in whole-sheet multiples based on how many sheets your cut list requires. A minimum order charge applies, and totals are rounded to the nearest £5.

What is MR MDF?
MR MDF (Moisture Resistant MDF) is a smooth, paint-ready board with improved moisture resistance compared to standard MDF. It is suitable for internal joinery in areas where occasional humidity is expected, such as kitchens and utility rooms.
What’s the maximum panel size I can order?
The maximum panel size is 3050 × 1220mm. The builder will warn you if any panel in your cut list exceeds these dimensions.
How is pricing calculated?
Boards are priced per full 3050 × 1220mm sheet, based on how many sheets your cut list needs (including an optimisation allowance). Cutting is charged at £2.00 per panel (ex VAT). There is no charge for edging as edging is not available on this product. A minimum order charge applies and is shown in the builder before you add to basket.
Is edging available?
No — edging is not available on MR MDF cut-to-size panels. All edges will be sawn. For best results, seal and prime cut edges before applying topcoats.
Can I order a sample first?
Yes — use the “Order sample” button to receive an MR MDF sample so you can check the board before committing to a full order.
Is MR MDF suitable for external use?
No. MR MDF is designed for internal use only. It offers improved moisture resistance versus standard MDF but is not suitable for external applications or prolonged exposure to water.
What finishing is recommended?
For best results, seal and prime all faces and especially cut edges before applying topcoats. This ensures a consistent paint finish and protects the board edges from moisture ingress.
