FAQ
Common Questions
Sizing, cutting & ordering
What is MR MDF?
MR MDF (Moisture Resistant MDF) is a smooth, paint-ready board with improved moisture resistance compared to standard MDF. It is suitable for internal joinery in areas where occasional humidity is expected, such as kitchens and utility rooms.
What's the maximum panel size I can order?
The maximum panel size is 3050 × 1220mm. The builder will warn you if any panel in your cut list exceeds these dimensions.
How is pricing calculated?
Material is priced per m², calculated from your total cut area and rounded up to the nearest 0.01 m². Cutting is charged at £1.00 per panel (ex VAT). There is no charge for edging as edging is not available on this product.
Is edging available?
No — edging is not available on MR MDF cut-to-size panels. All edges will be sawn. For best results, seal and prime cut edges before applying topcoats.
Can I order a sample first?
Yes — use the sample button to receive a small MR MDF piece posted in an envelope so you can check the material before committing to a full order.
Is MR MDF suitable for external use?
No. MR MDF is designed for internal use only. It offers improved moisture resistance versus standard MDF but is not suitable for external applications or prolonged exposure to water.
What finishing is recommended?
For best results, seal and prime all faces and especially cut edges before applying topcoats. This ensures a consistent paint finish and protects the board edges from moisture ingress.
What is the minimum order value?
The minimum order value is £100.00 ex VAT. The builder will show you how much more you need to add if your current cut list falls below this threshold.
