What HTM 63 means
HTM 63 is the NHS reference for joinery products in healthcare settings. It covers hygienic worktop and wall-junction detailing — sealed junctions that do not trap moisture or bacteria, smooth non-porous surfaces that are easy to disinfect, and construction that stands up to frequent cleaning. This worktop is built to that specification. Full compliance on site also depends on the installation: wall condition, sealant choice, cut-outs, joints and workmanship.

What is HTM 63?
HTM 63 is the NHS reference for joinery products in healthcare settings. It sets out how worktops and wall junctions should be detailed so they can be cleaned and disinfected properly.
Is this worktop HTM 63 compliant?
It is manufactured to HTM 63 specification. Compliance on site is achieved by the product together with the installation method — wall condition, sealant choice, cut-outs, joints and workmanship. Tell us the room type and layout and we will advise on the correct detail.
How is this different from your integral coved upstand worktop?
This one has a 55mm core and a 50mm rear upstand, built to HTM 63 specification. The coved upstand worktop has a 40mm core and a 75mm coved upstand, and is not supplied as an HTM 63 product. It costs less.
What is it made from?
A 55mm chipboard core faced in high-pressure laminate, with a 50mm integral rear upstand and both ends capped.
What sizes can I order?
Widths from 400mm to 2900mm and depths from 400mm to 900mm, to the millimetre.
Where is it typically used?
Wards, treatment and consulting rooms, clinical WCs and wash areas, laboratories and clean working areas.
How do I measure for a run of worktop?
Measure wall to wall at the back, then front to back at the deepest point. Send us your measurements, wall run layout and any cut-outs and we will confirm the detail before manufacture.
Can I order more than one worktop?
Yes. Use "Add another worktop" to build several sizes into one order.
What colours are available?
Six: BD White, BD Dove Grey, BD Graphite, BD Natural Oak, BD Pearl Stone and BD Slate Stone.

Important: Compliance is achieved by the product + the installation method (wall condition, sealant choice, cut-outs, joints and on-site workmanship). If you need assurance for a specific project, tell us the room type and layout and we’ll advise on the correct detail.
