Sizing, cutting, machining & ordering
What is compact grade laminate?
Compact grade (also called solid-core HPL) is a dense, 100% waterproof sheet with a black core. Unlike standard laminate it contains no MDF or chipboard — it's solid laminate all the way through, making it extremely durable and moisture-proof.
Compact grade or MFC: which do I need?
Match what your cubicles are made of. Compact grade is about 13mm thick with a solid black core and machined edges, and is fully waterproof. MFC is 18mm melamine-faced chipboard with a plastic (ABS) edge strip, for dry washrooms. Not sure? Send us a photo of a panel edge and we'll tell you.
What size pilasters can I order?
Pilasters are cut to your exact millimetre sizes, from 100mm up to 600mm wide and from 1500mm up to 2400mm tall. Measure the pilaster panel edge to edge and enter the height and width; the builder prices it instantly.
How is pricing calculated?
Boards are priced per full sheet based on how many sheets your cut list requires (including optimisation allowance). Cutting is charged per linear metre of cut perimeter, and edge finishing (machining on compact grade, ABS edging on MFC) per linear metre of edge. Live prices update instantly in the builder.
How are the edges finished?
Compact grade parts have a slight round (eased edge) machined on all four edges. MFC parts are ABS edged on all four edges. Both come as standard, with nothing to choose.

Which brand should I choose?
All three brands (Fundermax, Polyrey, Pfleiderer) produce high-quality compact grade and MFC boards. The main differences are colour range and sheet size. If you're matching existing panels, check the colour code on the back of the panel or send us a photo.
