Choosing cubicles for public buildings
Footfall, cleaning and the risk of misuse matter more here than in most buildings.
High footfall and misuse
Where washrooms are very busy or misuse is a risk, compact grade laminate is the more durable choice: it is solid all the way through and very impact resistant, so damage doesn't expose a chipboard core. We don't publish a tested vandal-resistance rating.
Cleaning and moisture
Most public toilets are mopped daily, which suits 18mm moisture-resistant MFC (Ascent). Washrooms that are hosed down, or next to showers, need 13mm compact grade laminate (Alpine or Summit).
Privacy
Standard cubicles are 1950mm high with a 150mm floor gap. Summit (compact laminate) and Ridge (moisture-resistant MFC) run floor to ceiling, 2100–2700mm, with an overhead panel above each door and only a 10mm clearance under the doors.
Replacement components
Doors, partitions, pilasters and hardware can be replaced individually, to match existing systems, so a damaged cubicle can go back into service without replacing the run.
Whole-life value
Compact laminate costs more per cubicle, so price both boards in the configurator. In washrooms that are hosed down or heavily used, compact laminate is the board made for those conditions; elsewhere, moisture-resistant MFC is the economical choice.

General guidance, not a compliance statement
This page is general product guidance. We don't publish a tested vandal-resistance rating for our cubicles. Building control, accessible provision and fire strategy should be confirmed by the design team for your building. Fire performance depends on the laminate and core specified for the job, so we do not publish a blanket rating. Tell us what the specification or fire strategy calls for and we will confirm what we can supply for that exact board.

Common questions
Which cubicles are best for a public toilet?
For washrooms mopped daily, Ascent (18mm moisture-resistant MFC). For very high footfall, misuse risk, or washrooms that are hosed down, Alpine (13mm compact grade laminate), or Summit if you want floor to ceiling.
Are your cubicles vandal resistant?
We don't publish a tested vandal-resistance rating. Compact grade laminate (Alpine and Summit) is the most durable board we make: it is solid all the way through and very impact resistant. Tell us about the risks on your site and we'll advise.
Can we have floor-to-ceiling cubicles?
Yes. Summit (compact laminate) and Ridge (moisture-resistant MFC) run floor to ceiling, 2100–2700mm, fixed with U-channel at the floor, walls and ceiling, with an overhead panel above every door.
Can damaged doors be replaced?
Yes. Replacement doors, partitions and pilasters are made to match existing systems, and cubicle hardware is sold separately, so a damaged cubicle can be repaired rather than the whole run replaced. See replacement parts, or send us the sizes, hinge and lock positions and a photo of the fixings.
Do you supply councils and public sector buyers?
Yes. We supply public sector buyers and the contractors working for them, and hold Constructionline Gold and SSIP accreditation. Use the quotation form to send a specification or drawings.
Are the cubicles made to measure?
Yes. Doors, partitions and pilasters are cut to the sizes you enter in the configurator, in runs of one to six cubicles between walls, into a corner or freestanding. There is no standard size and no cutting down on site, and the price updates as you go.
How quickly can you deliver?
Cubicles are made in 3–5 working days and delivered in 4–6 working days from order, free to the UK mainland. We agree the despatch date before manufacture starts. Any Highlands, Islands or Northern Ireland surcharge is confirmed before anything is made.
Do you install?
No. We manufacture and supply the cubicles rather than installing them. Every order comes with the fixing details, hardware and setting-out information your fit-out team needs, and the installation guide covers assembly.
